The first tourist trail will appear this year in Franz Josef Land archipelago (Arkhangelsk region).
"The trail will appear in the Tikhaya bay on Hooker Island by the end of the field season (September 2014). This place is very popular among tourists. We want to reduce anthropogenic load, so that they do not scatter, but walk in the same direction," the press service of the Russian Arctic National Park said.
The works on arranging the future trails will begin in June: the trails will get covered with wooden decking and reveted with the stones, pointer and plates with interesting facts will be installed. Two-kilometer trail brings tourists to the first Soviet polar station. "It remained. We are trying to reconstruct it. A part of the buildings is ready", the National Park representatives told. Another tourist trail to be established in 2015 at Cape Flora of Northbrook Island.
