The famous actor Anatoly Kuznetsov, aged 84, died on Friday, but it became known no sooner than on Sunday.
The remarkable and popular actor will be laid to rest at the Novodevichy Cemetery on March 13.
The civil funeral will take place in the Moscow House of Cinema on Wednesday, starting at 12 am, the Filmmakers Union of Russia reports.
Anatoly Kuznetsov gained fame with his leading role in the White Sun of the Desert, and 45 years past the film release the actor is still known to all as “the Red Army soldier Sukhov”. The White Sun of the Desert directed by Vladimir Motyl and released in 1969 attained a cult film status in the Soviet Union, having become one of the most successful and popular works in the history of Russian cinema.
Despite of the fact, Anatoly Kuznetsov cannot be called a one role actor.
In the course of his 60-year career in filming he acted in over a hundred movies and became an indisputable master of supporting roles.
