Dynamo Moscow stunned CSKA Moscow 4-2 at Khimki Arena just outside Moscow.
With two goals under before the break, the blue and white staged a spectacular comeback in the second half.
CSKA got on top thanks to wizard Seydou Doumbia who twice disappointed Vladimir Gabulov.
However, Dynamo was not going to give up and a powerful header by German forward Kevin Kuranyi appeared to have inspired the team to a goal galore. Unnerved CSKA goalie seemed unfit to save his team in the next twenty minutes.
Christopher Samba netted the second goal but suffered a concussion after he collided with Alexander Kokorin in the process.
Yury Zhirkov scored two goals which secured a comfortable win for the blue and white and the fourth place in the Premier League table.
Earlier, Russia-IC reported that Dynamo Moscow was beefed up by six Anzhi players who moved to Moscow after the Makhachkala club made a sudden U-turn on its ambitious strategy.
Igor Denisov, Yury Zhirkov, and Alexander Kokorin, with a total reported worth of 45 million euro, had to change their career plans after Anzhi owner Suleiman Kerimov decided to cut his investment into the club and sell off the stars, focusing on local players.
Later Dynamo Moscow also bought Vladimir Gabulov, Christopher Samba and Alexey Ionov, reported for 18 million euro.
VTB Bank is Dynamo's main sponsor.
