Starting second half of 2014 about 100 officers of tourist police will start working in Moscow pedestrian areas.
Their task will be ensuring the safety of capital's guests and assisting tourists. "The work on creating the tourist police units began in October last year, now staffing and the training of the police is coming to an end," the head of the Moscow Chief Directorate of Internal Affairs Anatoly Yakunin said. Staff training will be completed in the first half of the year. Law enforcement officers will learn not only speaking English, but also the rules of communication with city guests.
