Murmansk Will Celebrate The 100th Anniversary

In 2016, Murmansk will celebrate the 100th anniversary. In preparation for the celebrations there will be spent 28.2 billion rubles.

      As part of the Arctic Harbor project, the reconstruction of the pier at long distance marine lines' station is planned to be completed by the anniversary celebrations. The work on the site has been continuing since July 2012. The event provides the creation of a marine station-based infrastructure for receiving cruise ships and ferries and for passenger service. The works on renovation of external amenities are held in Murmansk area as well: a number of parks were renovated; street lights were replaced and new lighting decorations were installed on the central streets. Besides that, it is planned to reconstruct M-18 Kola highway and Arctic Hotel and Business Center.
