Earth Hour-2014 event will be held on March 29 at 20:30. Billions of people around the world will switch the lights off for one hour in token of not being indifferent to the future of the planet. Last year two billion people from 150 countries around the world joined the event.

      In 2012 during the Earth Hour in Russia campaign there were collected over 120,000 signatures for a law on protecting the seas from oil pollution. In the end of 2012, the law was signed by the President. In 2013, Earth Hour managed to collect 130,000 signatures for banning industrial logging in protected forests. It is already possible to take part in the event at present time.

      Organizers collected votes for the protection of polar bears, Amur leopards, snow leopards, tigers and bisons. Public support will contribute to the successful holding of environmental projects. All interested people can support environmental projects on the campaign's website. This year's Earth Hour campaign will end with a fest on the Red Square in Moscow. Presidential Administration, Ministry of Natural Resources and the Department of Natural Resources of Moscow government support the event, so the lights of the Moscow Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, GUM and all architectural ensembles will switch off at 20:30 on March 29. Environmental bicycle race will be launched before Red Square plunged into the darkness.
