À5 Group, a major pharmaceutical retailor, is planning a massive increase in investment in 2014, the Interfax news agency quotes the firm's CEO as saying.

The company that owns four brands, including A5, Sotsialnaya Apteka, Mosoblfarmatsia and Norma, is set to spend 274 million for its development blueprint, said Andrey Gusev.

The funds will be used to launch new stores and rebrand its legacy stores. In 2014, A5 is aiming for 250 new pharmacies in a move to expand its network.

Last year, the company spent 170 million roubles, opening 132 stores.
