Nika Award Ceremony Took Place in Moscow

The 27th Nika Award ceremony took place at the State Academic Operetta Theater on Tuesday.

      Alexander Veledinsky's work The Geographer Drank His Globe Away has been acclaimed as the Best Film of the Year according to the Russian Film Art Academy.

      This film has taken Nika Academy Award in the main nomination and the Best Direction Nomination.

      The Pipe by Vitaly Mansky has been awarded as the Best Documentary and Ku! Kin-dza-dza by Georgy Danelia has become the Best Animated Film. The Best Music Award goes to Alexey Zubarev for his soundtrack for The Geographer Drank his Globe Away. Sergey Ivanov has taken Nika as the Best Artist with his work for the film Stalingrad.
