Two-storeyed historical house in the Nekrasov Street known to locals as the former bar and bikers’ club Dad’s Garage was demolished in Yaroslavl.
“The building is not a monument, however there are no such houses left in the city - it was constructed in the late 19th century” - the architect and city defender Olga Mazanova reports.
According to social activists, the owner of the building neglected carrying out historical and cultural expert examination required before demolishing historical buildings.
“The unique wooden carving was vandalized: the platbands, cornices and a carved friso were damaged. However, the locals managed to rescue some of the details. It is a big loss for Yaroslavl!” - Olga Mazanova said.
