The level of viewers’ interest in Russian cinema in March, 2014 proved to be lowest over the last five years.

      The information has been provided by the Movie Research company upon some studies.

      Thus, in March there was the lowest rate of attendance at Russian movies in recent years - 1.71 million audience was recorded. At the same time five new Russian feature films went on general release. Meanwhile, the amount of general box receipts in March, 2014 set a new record in the last five years - it made 4.06 billion rubles. According to the Movie Research, it happened because of the ticket price surge: the average rate made 249.9 rubles, which is 3.7 per cent more than the average ticket price in February. A year ago the average rate made 232 rubles.
