Arkhangelsk will accept Russian and foreign experts in tourism development in the Barents region in October.
According to the Agency for Tourism and International Cooperation of Arkhangelsk oblast, this was agreed upon at a meeting of the Joint Working Group for Tourism in the Barents Region held in Helsinki, with the participation of the representatives of Norway, Finland, Sweden, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions. During the event the region initiated the next working group meeting which is to be held in Arkhangelsk on October 23-24, 2014 within the framework of the Tourism Barents Summit organized by the Agency for Tourism and International Cooperation of Arkhangelsk oblast, with the support of the Federal Agency for Tourism.
Barents Summit is one of the key tourism events held under the chairmanship of the Government of Arkhangelsk oblast in the Barents Regional Council and Committee. The main topics to be discussed will be the creation of inter-regional and cross-border tourism products in the Arctic, the implementation of financial tools for support of projects in the Barents and cooperation on the Arctic in the field of tourism.
