Federal Drug Control Service promptly reacted to recent events in Ukraine. The press service of the Federal Drug Control Service reported on Monday that the Russian Narcotics Police will conduct raids at the annual music festival “Kazantip” in Crimea, if necessary.
”Since the Crimea is now the territory of Russia, the Federal Drug Control Service will prevent illegal activities within the law. We will fight illegal drug trafficking in the same way as across the whole country” - the department reported.
“Kazantip” is the most famous annual festival of electronic music in the former Soviet Union which has been held since 1992. FDCS traditionally considers the fans of such entertainment to be potentially dangerous in terms of use and distribution of synthetic drugs. Answering the question how often the agency plans to make checks at the festival, a source in the Federal Drug Control Service said that they mean “raids conducted in clubs, in places where young people gather”: “If there is information of illegal drug trafficking, of course, we will make a check”.
