The new novel Monastery by the Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin will be screened, the newsru.com reports.
The author is already considering some offers on the screen version of his new book about the history of the largest labor camp Solovki.
According to Zakhar Prilepin, the book has just come off the press, and has been read by a limited number of people. There are already three offers on screening the book. The writer, however, expects many more of them to come.
The novel Monastery is the largest work by Zakhar Prilepin: it took 3.5 years to write it and one year to study literature on the Solovki. The novel consisting of about 800 pages tackles some biographic facts from the author’s family history. “I gradually started writing the novel, and it was growing and acquiring new characters”, - Zakhar Prilepin explained.
The writer also reminded that in May the movie Eight would go on general release in Russia. It is a screen version of Prilepin’s same-name novel directed by Alexey Uchitel.
