Evgeni Plushenko has made his way into science history after his photo appeared in a physics book.
The two-time Olympic champion’s image was captured in "Principles of Physics: A Calculus-Based Text" by Raymond Serway and John Jewett.
The figure skating star is seen on the left-hand side of the page explaining the nuances of rotational motion.
The news was broken by Plushenko himself in a tweet.
The athlete is back on ice after a surgery in an Israel clinic following a back injury in a warm-up during the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
The Russian Olympic champion was preparing for the individual men's event when he felt a pain in the back and realized he could not continue with his performance.
This was sad news for the Russian team who were hoping for another Olympic gold at the 2014 Olympics in figure skating.
In his interview to CNN, the renowned figure skater admitted it was the federation’s failure to find a replacement for him that forced him to risk his health at the individual event.
A couple of hours later, however, Plushenko took his words back, saying it was a misinterpretation of his statement and the reason for it was his poor English.
