Bronze model of the central part of Irkutsk to be installed in Kirov Park.
It was manufactured in LitArt foundry in Zhukovsky, Moscow Oblast. City's new landmark cost 1.8 million rubles. The money was allocated from Irkutsk budget.
The project authors are Yevgeny and Ilya Stavsky. It is supposed that this summer, after manufacturing of pedestal, the model will settle down on chosen place. Bronze model of the city will be mounted on a red-brown 300-mm thick granite slab. The model reproduces the historic streets of the central city together with lost and existing architectural ensembles. The model is made in 1:500 scale and has an area of 4 square meters.
"The idea of recreating the image of the central part of the late 19th and early 20th centuries Irkutsk seemed to us very interesting," architect Yevgeny Stavsky said. – "This is exactly that period when the city was rapidly developed and built."
