Stone Age Cave Discovered in Sochi

A cave of the Paleolithic Age has been found in Sochi. The archeologist Andrey Kizilov found it near the gorge Akh-tsu in the Adler District.

According to him, new objects of the bygone era have not been discovered in Sochi for more than half a century already.

“During the Olympic Games 2014 new routes were opened, and there came an opportunity to see various landscapes of Sochi from new viewpoints. It was on one of such unexpected moments that I saw the cave, which had possibly been manned in the Stone Age”, - Andrey Kizilov reports on the website of the Sochi Department of the Russian Geographical Society.

Scientists plan to carry out a full-fledged expedition in summer.
