Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the Russian capital again was not included in the list of the most expensive cities for tourists.
"The number of foreign tourists (visiting Moscow) last year reached a historic high: 5.6 million people. And what is encouraging is that we did not rank among the most expensive cities for tourists the second year," Mr. Sobyanin said during the meeting of city government. According to the mayor, Moscow ranked 15th among European cities at an average cost of one touring day. As Mr. Sobyanin believes, in many ways it happened because of the construction of new hotels. "1.4 thousand beds in hotels of different levels were introduced last year," he said.
