Ukrainians Request Asylum

More than 2.2 thousand Ukrainians have requested asylum in Russia in 2014.

      Since the beginning of 2014 the Russian Federal Migration Service has received from Ukrainian citizens about 2200 applications for asylum in Russia, ITAR-TASS reported with reference to the Ministry's press service.

      "Over the entire 2013, FMS received only five such appeals", the service stressed. They also added that, according to the agency data, about 375 thousand Crimeans have already received Russian passports.
