Ural Airlines Enlarged Its Air Fleet

Ural Airlines enlarged its air fleet with another Airbus A319, the press service of the carrier reports.

This is the fourth airplane of this model. The company now operates 32 aircrafts of the Airbus European consortium. The fourth Airbus A319 arrived to Yekaterinburg from Turkey. The total capacity is 134 seats with 126 economy class and 8 business class seats. The new aircraft is planned to be used both on international and Russian flights. The airliner performed its first flight the same day from Ekaterinburg to Vladivostok. The plan for 2014 is to replenish the fleet by another 4 aircrafts of A320 type. To date, the carrier operates 32 airliners: 18 A320, 10 A321 and 4 A319.

Ural Airlines’ key priority is international quality and flight safety standards. In 2012 Ural Airlines successfully passed the regular international audit for compliance with operational safety standards, and extended its registration on the International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s IOSA Register.

In 2012, the airline opened a proprietary pilot training centre equipped with a state-of-the-art A320 family trainer simulator.

Ural Airlines actively implements modern online passenger service technologies that are designed to make your journey as comfortable as possible at all stages - from flight selection and ticket booking to check-in and plastic card payment aboard an aircraft.

In 2012, Ural Airlines started a program for implementation of a new process platform Amadeus, which will be fully implemented in 2013. Ural Airlines will become the first Russian airline to use the Altea Departure Control System - the automated flight check-in system. Amadeus Altea will enable Ural Airlines to line up its own optimum flight option taking into account partner airlines’ flights, check in luggage for all flight segments at the original point of departure, choose seats on board while booking an air ticket, book hotels, and do many other things.

Following the results of 2011, Ural Airlines became the winner of the national aviation prize Wings of Russia as Airline of the Year – Passenger Carrier on Domestic Air Lines in Group 2 (DAL passenger traffic volume of one to three billion passenger kilometres). Ural Airlines has confirmed its leadership in this category for the seventh time now.

In 2011, Ural Airlines became a laureate of the 7th International Award Chariot of Gold as a Leader of Russian Air Transportation.
