A new laboratory, aimed at producing combat robots, has been launched in Russia.

      Its opening was announced in 2013. The project involves both state and private enterprises, Russian authorities comment. The laboratory will built prototypes of combat robots, and then perform official acceptance tests of the machines. Whether the tests would be successful, the robots will join the Russian army. No information on the machines being anthropomorphic is available to date.
