The exhibition Joseph Rubanov (1903–1988). Successor of Moscow Traditions will be held in the Tretyakov Gallery in Krymsky Val.
Joseph Rubanov was a connoisseur of the history of fine arts and in every art trend could find something close to his own artistic vision. But most of all Joseph Rubanov admired Paul Cezann. The impressionist’s freedom and ability to step back and take a detached look at any object inspired Rubanov and in many respects formed his style.
The world created by Joseph Rubanov was somewhat idealized. Work on the light and pure harmonious color palette helped the artist finding poetic in the prosaic reality.
The exposition will include portrait compositions, still lifes and, naturally, landscapes, so much cherished by the artist.
The exhibition will run from June 20 till September 7.
