The State Council of the Republic of Crimea passed in the first reading the law on state symbols. The emblem of the Crimea will depict silver griffin holding the shell with a pearl in his right paw.
"The State Emblem of the Republic of Crimea represents a silver griffin against the background of dark red Varangian shield, facing to the right and holding a disclosed silver shell with a blue pearl in his right paw. The shield is crowned with rising sun, surrounded with two white columns and tied with blue-white-red ribbon with the motto "Prosperity in unity," the draft law states.
National flag of the Republic of Crimea will represent a width consisting of three horizontal color bands: blue strip on the top is one-sixth of the flag's width; middle white strip is four-sixths of the flag width; red strip which is one-sixth of the flag width is located at the bottom. The width of the national flag of the Republic of Crimea is 1 meter and length is 2 meters.
The draft law also states that the national anthem of the Republic is the musical composition of honorary Crimeans: composer Alemdar Karamanov and poetess Olga Golubeva. The draft law was forwarded for reviewing, comments and suggestions to the standing committees of the State Council of Crimea; local councils; the acting head of the republic Sergey Aksyonov; the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Crimea Natalia Poklonskay; to the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Crimea and Sevastopol.
