On June 1, the north vestibule of the Moscow metro's VDNKh station opened after 11-month reconstruction.
A complex reconstruction of escalator tilt was completed and now finishing works are approaching the final stage. In addition to the replacement of the escalators, the ground building of the lobby was completely remodeled with replacement of overhead cover. Outdated escalators were replaced with new energy-efficient and more reliable systems. From the lobby there remained only bearing walls. All fillings and decorations were renewed.
VDNKh station has been operating since 1958. The work on the lobby reconstruction began on June 29 last year. The lobby architecture remained the same as before.
