On the eve of the 850th anniversary of Velikiye Luki, which will take place in 2016, the city officials presented souvenir samples, among which were Velikoluchanka Doll wearing traditional linen sundress and pearl beads. The chairman of the Committee for Culture of the city administration Valentina Zander explained that pearl was appreciated the most by resident of Velikiye Luki and was used both for decoration and in creation of hats and clothing items.

      Culture Committee also continues the "Velikolukskaya book" publishing project. A postal card, stamp and an envelope with holiday symbols will also be issued to the anniversary of the city.
