Russia managed to tie the tense debut game against South Korea to preserve good chances for qualifying for the knockout stage at the 2014 FIFA World Cup being held in Brazil. You can watch the goals if you follow the link. 

      Russia's manager Fabio Capello praised the players for their determination to equalize but pundits back at home are less optimistic.

      Korea scored the goal after a mistake by goalkeeper Igor Akinfeyev who displayed lack of confidence throughout the game.

      Alexander Kerzhakov leveled the score after a rebound from Eshchenko to save the face for Russia who were considered favorites in Group H.

      Russia will now have to win the games against Belgium and Algeria.

      Earlier, Belgium beat Algeria 2-1 and is now at the top of the table in Group H.
