By the end of 2016 there will be 1.6 million parking spaces in Moscow, the website of "Moscow 24" TV channel reports citing a source at the mayor's office. At the same time, according to the interlocutor of M24, creation of new parking spaces in 2017 - 2020 is not expected.

      According to the updated project of the program on Development of Moscow Transport System from 2012 to 2020, almost 880,000 cars to be put into operation in the capital.

      In 2010-2011 there have already been organized 737 300 parking spaces, so by 2016, their total number can reach 1.6 million. In 2013, there were created nearly 64,000 parking spaces in Moscow, 144,000 more are expected this year. The 2015 forecast indicates 209,000, but 2016 - 224,000.

      The source of the TV channel also noted that the number of parking spaces on the road network, including the plain parking lots will reach 1 million by the end of 2016. At the same time, the number of paid places in city parking lots will reach 130,000 by 2016.
