Russian airlines have acquired the right to sell non-refundable tickets starting Saturday. It is assumed that such tickets will cost less than usual, but returning the ticket and getting money back would be impossible.
There are only a couple of exceptions. First: the passenger's illness, either sickness or death of a close relative who with he intended to fly. In this case he will need supporting documents and notification for the carrier before the registration expires. The second exception: if the carrier has breached the contract of carriage. Here the most common example is the long delay of the aircraft.
According to experts, non-refundable ticket will be cheaper by 10-15 percent. Most likely, they will be sold only by low cost airlines.
