Architecture Monument Taken to Bricks in Petropavlovsk Park

Last week the human rights activist Olga Mazanova walked in Petropavlovsk Park in Yaroslavl.

In ruins of a building of historical value she noticed a woman cautiously looking around, and man breaking bricks out with a hammer.

The police arrived at the scene, but by that time the malefactors had already flown the coop.

It is not the first case of vandalism in the park. The ruining building of barracks of the Yaroslavl Manufactory is an architecture monument of the 18th century. Some people neglect its historical value and take it into bricks.

The Yaroslavl office of the All-Russian Society of Monuments Protection addressed the regional Culture Department with the request to help save the architecture monument.
