Open-air opera concerts will take place in St. Petersburg in the framework of the Opera to All festival.
City dwellers and tourists will listen to masterpieces of Russian and world opera classics in the Yelagin Island, Aleksandrovsky Park and the Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress.
The festival will be opened with the Golden Cockerel opera by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov on July 12. It will be performed near the Peter and Paul Cathedral from 7 pm.
Ludwig Van Beethoven’s only opera Fidelio will be given in front of the Music Hall at 5 pm on July 19.
The famous Queen of Spades by Ilya Tchaikovsky will be started at 3 pm in front of the Yelagin Palace.
The festival held under the aegis of the Culture Committee is community oriented and will be open for free to all comers.
