Sanctions against Moscow did not prevent the U.S. exports to Russia from reaching the highest level in May, The Wall Street Journal writes.
This is evidenced by the figures published by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The United States announced that the sanctions were introduced against several Russian companies and individual persons in March, but the volume of the U.S. exports to Russia reached its highest level of $ 1.2 billion in May, and the demand for the U.S. products in Russia increased by 21% compared to April, according to the article. The U.S. exports to the EU grew by almost 4% mostly due to Britain, the Netherlands, Spain and Ireland, the newspaper said. The exports to China increased by 2%.
