No Swimming In St. Petersburg
(Source: http://spb.mk.ru/article)

It is not recommended  to swim in any pond in St. Petersburg. This conclusion was made by St. Petersburg's Rospotrebnadzor experts according to laboratory water tests.

The test results showed that people cannot swim there, only do sunbathe near the ponds. Improvement and landscaping was carried out fully on all beaches except Suzdal Lakes, Olginsky Reservoir, Bezymyannoye Lake, at Peter and Paul Fortress and in the Primorsky Victory Park: the coastal territory was cleaned, the sand was added, mobile toilets and containers for the collection of household waste were installed. Consuming water from open reservoirs for drinking and water ingestion while swimming poses a threat of catching acute intestinal infections, enteroviruses, hepatitis A and other infectious and parasitic diseases. In the Leningrad Oblast it is possible to swim with no fear in the artificial reservoir on the territory of "Igora", S'yas River, Ratnoye and Svetloye Lakes.
