No Tourist Police In Kaliningrad

There will be no Tourist Police divisions in Kaliningrad oblast, according to “Novy Kaliningrad” quoting the words of the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. “These departments are created at the federal level, the region received no orders on formation of the Tourist Police so far” - the Deputy Head of the press service Vyacheslav Kotchubey said. Tourist Police began its work in Russia on July 1, the staff of the division patrols the streets in the centre of Moscow where tourists walk most often.

It is planned that similar divisions will later appear in other regions of Russia. It is assumed that tourist policemen must speak a foreign language and know the basics of local history.
