Andrei Konchalovsky’s new film White Nights of Postman Alexey Tryapitsyn will take part in the main program of the Venice Film Festival.
The film goes on the cycle of movies about the Russian village, which was started with The Story of Asya Klyachina and Assia and the Hen with the Golden Eggs.
The new film is a drama about life out in the sticks, where the postman was is often the only link with the outside world.
Andrei Konchalovsky’s works in theater and cinema are well-known in Italy. He already participated in the film festival back in 2002. Back then his film The House of Fools won the Grand Prix.
The film festival will be opened at the end of August, with 20 films participating in its main contest program, White Nights of Postman Alexey Tryapitsyn among them.
