Special tourist tax will be imposed in the Vladimir region as it was proposed by the Governor.

Governor of the Vladimir region Svetlana Orlova considers appropriate an introduction of a special tourist tax, Interfax reported.

"Such practice exists in many countries around the world, as a rule, this tax is paid by tourists on arrival at the hotel and sent to the local budgets. It's a small tax - 100-150 rubles, and for the cities it is a source of funding," - said Orlova at a press conference in Vladimir on Wednesday.

According to her, a special fee for tourists will be introduced in five cities: Vladimir, Suzdal, Aleksandrov, Gorohovets and Yuriev-Polsky. These cities are the major tourist centers of the Vladimir region.
