Nikita Mikhalkov

Nikita Mikhalkov has announced an estimated date of the release of his new film Sunstroke based on Ivan Bunin’s writings.

The film was made in the last two years, though the project as such was initiated as far back as the 1980s. According to the film director, his new film will appear on the screen on October 9.

Nikita Mikhalkov apprehends that his new work will be banned in Ukraine. The film director mentioned that he is actually a persona non grata for Kiev. It is interesting that Odessa is one of the film settings.

The mass media reported earlier that the authorities of Ukraine blocked the general release of the new Russian films White Guard and Poddubny.

The famous film director did not select any top film stars to play in The Sunstroke. The main characters are played by Martins Kalita, Victoria Solovyova, Anastasia Imamova, Sergey Serov and others. The film budget is estimated at $ 24 million.
