Five canvasses by Isaak Levitan has been stolen from the Plyos State Historical Architecture and Art Memorial Estate.
On the night of Tuesday the thieves broke into the museum premises through a window and and stole Levitan's five paintings, including Substation, Roses, Ravine with a Fence, River Creek (Prudik) and The Silent River. Despite the alarm signal timely sent to the security console the theft was not prevented.
Some of these canvasses were conveyed to the museum, and some of them were purchased in the late 1980s. Theft didn't manage to be prevented, which has timely arrived on the receiver.
The preliminary amount of loss makes 77 million rubles. Each of the stolen paintings was insured to the amount from 13 to 20 million rubles.
