Zvyagintsev's Leviathan to Be Released in September
Andrey Zvyagintsev

Andrey Zvyagintsev's new film Leviathan will be released only for a week in September 2014.

September distribution of Leviathan will make it possible for the film to become an Oscar contender. The point is that the Oscar Committee of Russia will have the right to nominate a film for Oscar if it already appeared on screen.

Leviathan will go on general release at the beginning of 2015. The film producer Alexander Rodnyansky mentioned that a few profane words present in Leviathan will be beeped in accordance with the law forbidding such lexicon in broadcasted movies since July 1, 2014.

It should be noted that Leviathan has already been awarded as the best scenario at the last Cannes Film Festival.
