Today, Ulyanovsk already hosts one international airport: "Ulyanovsk-Vostochny". "Ulyanovsk-Baratayevka" Airport, which from now on will also serve international flights, previously functioned only as a domestic. The reconstruction of the terminal building is completed.

      Government website also notes that "the decision will increase the air traffic for the benefit of the Ulyanovsk Oblast; it will give additional impetus to socio-economic development of the region, including creation of additional jobs and will also help to attract investors in the development of the airport itself."
