The "Lastochka" train will be launched on Vyborg direction, the governor of the Leningrad Oblast, Alexander Drozdenko said during his working trip to the Vyborg District, AiF-Petersburg writes. The governor went to Vyborg on "PA2" rail bus. "This is a very convenient train, which has already been liked by passengers. But we have a goal to further improve the service quality, so we're going to propose the JSC "Russian Railways" to launch Saint Petersburg – Vyborg "Lastochka" train, which would reduce the trip time to 1 hour," Alexander Drozdenko said.
They arrived at an agreement with the management of Octyabrskaya Railway. If this high-speed commuter train will run on the specified route, then cyclists will get a great opportunity to travel to Finland, because the Suomi border is 30-50 km away from Vyborg, depending on the checkpoint remoteness.
