A new tourist route 1.79 kilometers long will appear in the centre of Moscow on Pokrovka and Maroseika, as the press service of the department of urban planning policy reports.
The first buildings on Pokrovka and Maroseika appeared in XV-XVI centuries, when the royal gardens began to be built here. Today these best-preserved historic streets of Moscow have 29 cultural heritage sites and 17 city-forming buildings. During the improvement of Pokrovka Maroseika the facades of the houses are to be repaired, and yard territories are to be set in order.
The works on expansions of the sidewalks to be paved with granite tiles are currently underway on the streets. Two lanes are left for traffic. The appearance of the streets will be significantly transformed by the planned landscape gardening, as well as by the installation of small architectural forms, poles and outdoor lighting lamps. The total route length is 1.79 km: Pokrovka will have 1320 m and Maroseika - 470 m.
