Beginning from the last year Yaroslavl oblast is a member of the new tourist route “Ornamental Patterns of Russian Cities” initiated by Vologda oblast with the support of the Federal Agency for Tourism with the participation of seven constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Vladimir, Vologda, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and Yaroslavl oblasts, as the Tourism Agency of Yaroslavl oblast reports.

The interregional project route “Ornamental Patterns of Russian Cities” reveals the cultural and historical potential of the regions, telling about folk traditions and well-known folk crafts, supports the development of amateur art in the participating regions. This is a complex project that combines cultural sightseeing routes for tourists in the seven regions of the Russian Federation in a single interregional cultural and educational circular route which was included into the “Performance Plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for the years 2013 - 2018”.
