Kazan authorities actively develop free Wi-Fi networks so that tourists will be able to use mobile guides for moving around the city and getting information about the surrounding urban objects.
The official website of Kazan authorities reported that, in particular, the network in Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda on Kayuma Nasyri Street was put into operation from August 1, where the service “Mobile Guide” will be launched in a pilot mode.
The special application for mobile devices will provide the user with the information about the objects of cultural, historical and entertainment type located near the current location of the user.
“The peculiarity of the application is that it automatically determines what object people are approaching and offers them to listen or read the relevant information, watch the video clip. The information in the system will be available in Tatar, Russian and English languages” – the press release says. In addition, the authorities of Kazan are working on information content of the audio guide application, whose route is laid through the territory of the Kazan Kremlin.
The network of data transfer will use the already existing network of free Wi-Fi.
