Today the ROSIZO exhibition hall opens the exposition Holidays of the Soviet State.
The exhibition is dedicated to the culture of holidays in the Soviet Union.
Paintings and graphic art works from the collections of ROSIZO and Institute of the Russian Realistic Art, posters, banners, applied works, as well as photos from the State Archive of Film Documentary Photographs will reveal the way artists turned harsh Soviet reality into a colourful performance.
The visitors will see the diversity of holidays in the multinational Soviet Union, trace the development of festive ideas and forms, and transformation of artists’ attitude towards them: from sincere delight with the colourful show to formal execution of the official order.
The exhibition runs till September 28.
