The National Centre for Contemporary Arts holds an exhibition timed to the 80th anniversary since the birth of the artist and sculptor Yevgeny Chubarov.
The exhibition includes works of different years donated to the NCCA collection by Gary Tatintsyan and the artist’s widow Lyudmila Chubarova.
Yevgeny Chubarov’s art belongs in both radical and archaic cultures, where the expressionism is a leading strategy.
In his paintings the artist persistently resorts to scenes of rural life that he witnessed as a child and generalizes them into canonical plots, symbolical acts of struggle and conception, when the person becomes an intermediary in the continuous dialogue of the Earth and the Sky.
The exhibition runs from August 15 till August 29.
