Grave of Ancient Strongman Found in Omsk Region

Archeologists have found remains of an ancient athlete in the course of excavations near Omsk.

The grave with the skeleton was found in the Muromtsevo District. The athlete was about 180 centimeters tall. Most likely, the man perished in a fight — his shoulder had splintered fracture and his left hand was cut off. According to the expertise, the man was 40 years old.

Scientists are sure that the grave belonged in the culture of ancestors of the Khanty and Mansi, and the soldier was one of those who were trained from early childhood. The grave is considered unique as remains and objects have been well preserved.
