Staff of the Novgorod State Memorial Estate will turn the only remaining tower of the ancient Okolny town into a museum.
The Alekseevsky (White) Tower is located on the town wall, which was the border of the Okolny town. According to chronicles, it was built in the 16th century.
The tower is 17 m over, with its walls about 4.5 m thick and 12.5 m high. The tower is crowned with embrasures and a 10-meter hipped roof. Restoration works were last time carried out in Post-Soviet years. The tower is presently empty.
