The Museum of Folk Arts and Crafts has been opened in the Fedoskino Settlement near Moscow.
“The idea of creating a folk arts and crafts museum near Moscow surfaced several decades ago, and in 2003 the administration of the Moscow Region took the decision of establishing such a museum in the Fedoskino Settlement, the homeland of the famous Russian lacquered miniature painting. A mansion of the late 19th century was allocated for the museum” - the press service of the district Culture Ministry reports.
The press release specifies that the building is a cultural heritage site of district value: it housed workshops and manufacture departments of Fedoskino miniature painting.
