The Russian Government has approved an 11-day weekend in January 2015, as it is stated in the Decision of 27 August 2014.
In 2015, January 3 and 4 that are weekends (Saturday and Sunday) coincide with the non-working holidays and thus are extended to January 9 and May 4, respectively, the document says.
Therefore, there will be eleven days of Christmas and New Year holidays in January and 4 days of vacations in May for the celebration of Spring and Labour Day.
The Document is prepared by the Ministry of Labour of the Russian Federation. The Head of the Ministry noted that these holidays were planned in order to meet the interests of the Russian citizens and create comfortable conditions for holidays both in winter and in spring.
Totally, there will be 28 days of weekends and holidays next year: January 1-11, March 7-9, May 1-4, May 9-11, June 12-14 and November 4.
