Painting by Zhou Shaohua Comes to Moscow

The State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow opens the exhibition Symphony of Man and Heaven by the Chinese artist Zhou Shaohua.

The well-known 85-year-old artist and art theorist has had more than 80 personal exhibitions already; however, it is going to be his first exhibition in Russia.

Zhou Shaohua works in the genre of traditional Chinese ink painting, using his own special artistic devices. Western critics call his style “new Oriental symbolism”.

The exhibition includes his landmark paintings, including Spirit of the Yellow River with unusual transformation of the classical landscape.

The exhibition will run from September 3 to October 5.
