ZOO-ART Territory is an exhibition of works by modern Russian artists researching various aspects of relations between the man and animals.
The art space, which is zoo space at the same time, is a social institute that works on modes of cultural anthropogenesis, i.e. creating humane in the human being. “Human” and “animal” are either separated in the art and zoo space, or find new points of interpenetration, and this exhibition will try to reflect the latter case.
Modern Russian artists have provided graphic, photo, video and media works conveying their personal and conceptual look at wildlife. The artists are Dmitry Prigov, Nikita Alekseev, Vitaly Komar and Alexander Melamid, Maria Baturina, Alice Beketova, Ivan Galuzin, Alina Glazun, Alexey Dyakov, Sergey Katran, Alec Petuk, Evgenia Tarabrina, Svetlana Sergeyeva, Olga Shapovalova, amd Evgenia Chapaykina.
The exhibition project in the ZOO Gallery is timed to the 150th anniversary of the Moscow Zoo. The visitors of the zoo are welcomed to the gallery with a usual zoo ticket.
The exhibition runs till October 30.
